Your Team

Just like our clients, the team at Colmore Partners comes from all walks of life and we think that is something to celebrate.

A good relationship with your financial planner will span decades, so understanding one another is essential. We make sure you are matched with a financial planner who gets you. It is why we nurture our own up-and-coming talent. For clients just starting to build their wealth, it means we are able to pair them with a planner nearer their own age.

We know financial plans can take decades to mature, so we make sure we are with you every step along the way.

What you can expect when you get in touch.

We will find out what makes you tick

We start by listening very carefully to what you tell us is important to you. And, crucially, why it’s important to you. In short, we want to understand what your hopes and aspirations are and what worries you.

We will build your grand plan, together

Gaining a deep understanding of what matters to you helps us to build a plan that meets your unique needs. One that has crystal clear objectives and is strong enough to last a lifetime. At the same time it will be a plan that is flexible enough to absorb the inevitable shocks of any surprises along the way.

We will make sure your tax allowances are maximised

Having in place a robust financial plan provides peace of mind and the confidence that you’ll achieve your goals. And it should do so maximising tax reliefs. We will make sure that all available tax allowances are built into your grand plan.

This is who we are and what makes us tick. If you like what you read here, we would love to hear from you to explore how we can help you build, or indeed improve, your own grand plan.

Richard Meek

Managing Director

Richard is a Chartered Financial Planner and the Managing Director of Colmore Partners. For more than 25 years he has delivered holistic Financial Planning advice to a wide range of private clients including entrepreneurs, professional partners and PLC directors. As well as those now retired and living from their wealth.

He has overall strategic responsibility for Colmore Partners and continues to advise existing clients.

Clients say Richard is ‘a trusted adviser’ that he is ‘very, very personable’ as well as being ‘extremely knowledgeable’. Colleagues describe him as someone who is curious about everything, supportive, and has integrity.

Richard says: “Just because something has always been done one way, doesn’t mean there isn’t a better way of doing it. If you don’t question things, you’ll never learn. I broke from the standard model of valuing an advice firm because I wanted what we did at Colmore Partners to be driven by energy and creativity, not chasing profits for the business. “The same goes for what I want for our clients. Of course building a robust financial base is essential, but it shouldn’t be where aspirations stop. It is about living life and fulfilling potential. To me, a job well done is giving the people around me the confidence to flourish and to have fun doing it – that goes for both clients and colleagues.”

Wendy Fellows

Director

Wendy is a Chartered Financial planner with over 30 years' experience. She is a founding director of Colmore Partners.

Wendy delivers trusted financial planning advice to a wide range of private clients, especially those approaching retirement. She has particular expertise in helping clients who are recently bereaved or are going through a divorce. Wendy combines her client-facing role with being a Director of the firm and is responsible for our people.

Clients say Wendy is ‘just lovely and boy does she know her stuff!’ that she ‘really listens to what matters to you and takes a genuine interest in you’ and when speaking to Wendy ‘you always feel you are speaking to someone who actually knows you’ Colleagues describe her as conscientious, caring, and reliable.

Wendy says: “I’m here to help people and to do that I need to get to know them, to understand what makes them tick. What kind of life they would like to lead now and what life they want to be able to lead in future. And then work with them to create a clear path that will get them from A to B and achieve those goals along the way. It involves lots of problem solving and bringing all of the many skills in the business together. Much like the bell ringing I started recently, when we all pull together it produces some truly amazing results.”

Craig Stansfield

Director

Craig is responsible for Colmore Partners’ governance, finance, operations and commercial arrangements.

Craig was Managing Director at Garvins consulting actuaries before it was sold to Barnett Waddingham in 2008. He spent two years on their management board and was Chairman of the business development team. In 2010, he left Barnett Waddingham and volunteered for the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, where he spent two years working on the planning and delivery of London 2012. Craig has also been a Director and Compliance Officer for a boutique investment firm and has held a number of charity roles.

Craig says: “Anything that’s not client-facing, namely the processes that sit behind how we operate as a business, is my responsibility. It falls to me to make sure that we’re doing right by our people. I like to work at a business where I can sleep soundly at night because I know it is being run the right way and we are doing the best we can for our clients and for our people. I am of an age where uninterrupted sleep is all too precious so there is more than a little self-interest at play in making sure that's the case.”

Simon Hoult

Director

Simon is a Chartered Financial Planner with over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector. He advises a range of clients with complex financial planning needs.

The training and development he leads for our planners, therefore, not only ensures that we adopt best practice in response to the latest industry changes and regulations, but also focuses on better understanding of the human behind the portfolio.

Clients say Simon is ‘compassionate’ and that he ‘goes above and beyond to help’. He has also earned the nickname ‘the straight-talking finance guy’.

Colleagues describe him as supportive and candid.

Simon says: “I believe there is real dynamism in our approach to our work. As a team we are very happy to learn and develop. And I think because of that, the conversations we have with people are deeper and more thoughtful. It also means that we can provide appropriate challenges to our clients in order to help them make the right choices, at the right time.

“Increasingly, as I get older, the most important thing to me is time – alongside my health and the health of my family. So, the best bit of my job is helping people to do more of the things that they love with the time that they have.”

Chris Bevan

Finding the best possible answer to a client query is an important part of the paraplanner role. Those answers are often fairly technical and financial services, as a profession, is rife with jargon and acronyms, so a key skill for paraplanners is making the reports clear and accessible.”

And I genuinely value working with my team, especially when I can support their development and help them progress in their roles.”

How would I want her money to be looked after and what level of effort would I want someone to put in on her behalf? And then I do my utmost to treat them as I would want my mum treated. Uppermost in my mind is that I would want my mum to be able to feel that she can trust this woman with anything and that’s how I want all my clients to feel as well.”

“I know how life-changing timely financial advice can be for our clients. I also know the more you understand and the sooner you gain an understanding of it, the better. So, I see my job as a financial planner extending beyond my client work to equipping teenagers and young adults with key life skills around money. That’s why I regularly go into schools and universities to give them a grounding in the core areas of managing money well. And I love it!”

Kelly Howles

Kelly is a hugely experienced senior administrator and she has overall responsibility for the day-to-day administration of your portfolios.

Colleagues say Kelly is super organised, as well as approachable and trustworthy.

Kelly says: “I make sure the investment, pension, or insurance providers we have chosen for you maintain the very best level of service. As anyone in financial services will tell you, that can be a huge undertaking! The other key part of my job is ensuring that we help you complete the paperwork required by both providers and the regulator. We ensure all the Is are dotted and all the Ts are crossed.”

It's nice to take one away for somebody, you know, so they don’t have to worry about having enough money to retire when they want to or that they’re in the most appropriate investment funds, because someone they trust is taking care of it. Feeling like you've taken a worry away is really rewarding.”

Harriet Walker

Senior Client Services Support

Harriet is a senior administrator who works closely with our planners and paraplanners across a number of clients.

Colleagues say Harriet epitomizes what we strive to provide at Colmore Partners "engagement with a human being, not a corporate".

Harriet says: “Our clients need our help at times when they are often at their most vulnerable. They may be dealing with the emotional stress of a divorce. Or the trauma of losing someone they love. The pain of that loss is made so much worse by the mountain of admin that follows in the wake of a death. It is an amazing thing to be able to do, to ease that burden, even just a tiny bit, by listening and being understanding.”

Kim Crook

Paraplanner

Kim is a Paraplanner and has worked in the financial services industry for nearly 30 years.

Kim’s current role involves providing technical support, carrying out research, analysing information and preparing advice reports for clients.

Colleagues say Kim is detailed and thorough, sociable, conscientious and driven.

Kim says: “I love looking into things that are a little bit out of the ordinary and then having to do extra reading around the technical aspects of it. The detail gets my brain working! I think I am naturally curious and I have a very keen eye for detail, which comes from previously working at a solicitors where I had to really get into the nitty gritty of everything to defend people. That’s stuck with me ever since.”

Anna Hoctor

Senior Client Services Support

Anna started her career in 2019 with an independent financial adviser and has a wealth of experience in the financial services sector.

Colleagues say Anna is a glass half full person and very personable. And that she definitely falls into the ‘a bit of a talker’ category.

Anna says: “This is a people business and I want to know as much about how people ‘think’ as possible. The book I have on the go at the moment (alongside the thrillers) is called Overcoming your chimp brain. It’s great insight into what influences the decisions we make. That chimp brain seems to gatecrash far too many thoughts!”
